Been Busy

Howdy! Been busy here at White Line Screen Printing the past couple months. Let's give a big WHOOHOO to that! In this rough economic time, that is for sure something to WHOOHOO about! In previous blogs, I have talked about 4 color process printing, an 8 color design, and I am sure rambled on about other things as well. Today I am just going to ramble some more. Like that don't ya? Hey, no eye rolling! When it comes down to printing t-shirts, there are options one can take. Pictures for instance. Depending on quantity, they can be digital, or screen printed. Digital printing works great for small quantities. Example - I would like to have my daughter's school pic with "NaNa's Baby Girl" arched across the top of the picture. That is ideal for digital. Example 2 - I would like to have my daughter's band pic with tour dates on the back and a left chest logo of the band name, 300 of them please. Ideal for 4 color process screen printing. Quiet a bit to take in isn't it? Let's not limit digital printing to just pictures. Digital printing works great for any small order. A bonus with digital printing is there is no setup fees. Now you ask, "What exactly is digital printing?" Pheww, thought you would never get around to that. Digital printing is taking your image, design, words, whatever, and applying it with a special printer. The ink is embedded into the fabric. Whereas with screen printing, the ink is raised on the fabric. With digital printing, you can not feel the ink on the fabric. Oh yeah, and it's not limited to shirts only. That's right buckaroo! T-shirts, polo's, hats, anything that is 100% cotton. Yeah, you knew there had to be one limitation. It's not a big one, no worries. Catch your breath, don't panic. Better now? Great! I offer my apologies if you actually did panic. Honestly, digital printing is a great service that we offer. Check it out sometime!!

We are expanding!!

Liz again, it's been a few months.... It's true, a lot can happen in a short period of time. We have expanded to offer an exceptionally wide range of promotional items. Want to know what's funny? I had no clue, or thought to what someone could promote themselves with. I might notice a cup, key chain, ink pen, the usual items. Now you can promote yourself on anything! Did you know that you can actually advertise on an ECO Elephant Poo Bound Jotter? A notebook made out of elephant dung. WOW! One of my finds this afternoon when browsing around. Along with scented pencils, speakers enclosed in cardboard, aroma USB hubs that release floral scents. Literally, anything can be used to promote yourself. Something to think about!

Above and Beyond

Liz here. I have obviously taken over the blog for the time being. Hmm, what little tidbit to talk about today. Hmmmmm. For anyone who might have read some of the previous blogs, yes, I am still learning. I can't be certain that I am not forgetting stuff also. LOL. Anyhow, last week, White Line Screen Printing printed an eight color design. So totally COOL! Imagine taking a picture of two tow trucks, adding some chains, fonts, colors galore and presto! Poof! The design was everything the customer wanted and more it seems. Tim, the head honcho here at White Line Screen Printing went above and beyond to get the design right for the customer. Tim couldn't find a graphic to use of the chains, so he went out and took digital pics, worked a little magic, and made it work. Of course the design, I, along with the customer thought it looked great. Tim on the other hand continued to work with it until it was just right. Somehow I still think he thinks he could have done better with it. Yet, Tim was able to transform the whole image into a great graphic that was applied to three different colored shirts. White, Black, and Royal Blue. Now for those of you that don't know that much about screenprinting, to have one design go on multiple colors, and not change the colors in the design is somewhat hard to do. Usually will be running into some problems with the ink showing up on the color, where as it would stand out on the white. Tim made all of this possible. Guess what I am trying to say is this, White Line Screen Printing goes the extra mile in taking care of what the customer wants!

Still Learning...

Hello and good day to you! Thanks for taking a moment to read about White Line. Once again, I will introduce myself. I'm Liz, a customer service rep here at White Line. The one that is still trying to learn everything that I possibly can. Since the last blog, a huge ice storm came thru Kentucky. White Line didn't suffer damage from this storm, except for no water for a few days. Other businesses along the street came out well also. We closed up shop for that week.

As mentioned in the previous blog, I am still learning. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of observing a 4 color process design printed. All I could say was "NEAT!!". This was a first for me all the way around. Sure, I have shirts that have a pic on them, that was digitally applied. Never gave a thought to an full color image applied using the screen printing method. Both methods are great, but to actually see a 4 color process design produced....NEAT!!!! It's a little complicated from my viewpoint, and I am sure that a lot of people would have no idea what the difference is. Digital methods use printers with special paper that can be heat pressed onto the garment, or digitally printing directly on the garment. White Line is capable of these methods, along with many others. A 4 color process is taking 4 ink colors, blending, and shading them in exactly the right way to make up an image of several colors. Of course you have to make sure that everything is set up the correct way, if not then the image, colors, and shirts will be a mess. Told ya, a wee bit complicated. Anyhow, the shirts came out beautiful.

Now I just wonder what the next new thing is going to be for me..... Can't wait!

Thanks for taking the time to drop by and check us out!

Learning.......

Hello! Let me introduce myself. I'm Liz, a recent addition to White Line Screen Printing. It's been a couple months and my head still spins with all the things to learn. Tim is a complete whiz when it comes to artwork for shirts. Just today, he did some artwork from a pencil drawing. Yes, pencil drawing. Took all of maybe 5 minutes, and I of course could not begin to know how he did it. I've tried to "watch and learn". No success. As mentioned, a whiz at the artwork. I never realized how much goes into the screen printing. I had a general idea from previous employment...but that's all it was, general idea. I am slowly (painfully, with mistakes) learning the ropes. White Line Screen Printing isn't just about screen printing. White Line offers a selection of products that can add a special personalized touch. From coffee mugs to puzzles. I didn't intend for this blog to sound like I'm giving a sales pitch. I am just excited about all the new things that I am learning about. Thanks for taking time to read my rambling..until next time.

My long lost blog

Now that I found my blog here, it's time to be adding some content. I hope you will find info there using and informative. Please feel free to add comments and suggestions of subjects you would like to know more about.

The plan here is to educate the public about the different avenues of printing and what we can do for you. I started White Line Screen Printing in 1990 and have been serving Mercer County and surrounding areas ever since. I love getting a large order that I can set up and just run hundreds of shirts over the course of a day. But you say you don't need that many?? Well, White Line Screen Printing in historic Harrodsburg is one of very few printing companies will print just a single or small order. So, give us a call and let's see what we can do for you.

Since I'm new to blogging, if anyone has any helpful hints or ways I can improve my blog, let me know.

Thanks
